There are much more achievements that have been accomplished by the research society of India including ICMR and other national institutes and also private research partners. With more collaborations happening with foreign universities and other researchers from around the globe, we can sure hope that the research sector in India is having a bright future.

The medical technology sector in India works hand in hand with the medical research sector. The results of these combinations can be very promising at times. Over recent years the medical sector of India was able to produce some extremely beneficial products that can help with many medical conditions around the world.

Greatest Medical Achievements in India include:
1. Discovery of STIL Gene.
2. Use of Glue in Eye Surgeries.
3. Diabetic Surgery.
4. Cyberknife Technology.
5. Polypill for Heart.

In addition to these, there are other technological medical breakthroughs.

Insights from a blog post, “Advancement of Medical Technology In India,” highlights five major developments.

1. TruNAT Rif: TruNat Rif is a groundbreaking technology that allows the diagnosis of tuberculosis by testing the sputum of the patient. The device is battery operated, which means it is completely portable and can be a huge benefit for field agents trying to eradicate tuberculosis. It is a rapid molecular diagnostic kit which is produced indigenously making it extremely cheap for public use. “The device is one of the prime examples that can show the development of medical research in India.”

2. RISUG: The Reversible Inhibition of Sperm Under Guidance (RISUG), is a pioneer from India to the global research front. It is a non-invasive and non-hormonal male contraceptive that so far is the best option available for solving the problems of accidental conception due to the lack of non-hormonal male contraceptives. It is the first successful intravasal male contraceptive method available in the market for males who are looking for non-hormonal contraceptive methods.

3. Development of PCG for Workers: Personal Cooling Garment (PCG) was developed by the researchers at the National Institute of Occupational Health in Ahmedabad. This cooling garment is designed keeping in mind the high amount of heat which affects the workers and manual labours who work in the tarring of roads in broad sunlight.

4. Nano Particle-Based Diagnostic Kit: The National Institute of Immunohematology, gave a groundbreaking discovery by producing the first available nanoparticle-based diagnostic kit for identifying diseases like Von-Willebrand Disease(VWD). This achievement is particularly great because of the fact that there is no other rapid test kit available for the diagnosis of many of the prevalent bleeding disorders.

5. Magnivisualizer: Researchers from the National Institute of Cancer Prevention and Research, Noida, came to limelight when they successfully developed Magnivisualizer — a handheld device that allows you with an option to capture a digitized image which can help in the detection of precancerous cervical lesions.

The puzzling question, therefore, is why is India still silent on the Race for Vaccine development to arrest Covid19?
