Taking a hard look at the Entrepreneurial University — Walking the Talk
So what’s in a name?
Entrepreneurship Development Centre or Centre for Entrepreneurship Development (CED)? Doesn’t matter … Just do it (apologies Nike)!!
Sort out the MISFITS (Market access, Infrastructure, Support services, Finance, Information, Technology and Security) was the key message I gathered from a recent event organised by the Coal City University.
The University, as a force for good that it should be, irrespective of being public, private or alternative provider — Community service is key.
That was what panned out over the past week where two Entrepreneurship Centres within the private university sector one each from the Southwest (Pan Atlantic University, Lagos) and Southeast (Coal City University, Enugu) of Nigeria engaging with notable stakeholders such as the Manufacturers Association of Nigeria (MAN), National Universities Commission (NUC), and the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency of Nigeria (SMEDAN) on how the university can forge the entrepreneurial ecosystem with a view to tackling the “wicked problems” confronting the education sector in Nigeria.
